Download 25 free 29K HDRIs from Open HDRI

Artist and photographer Grzegorz Wronkowski has launched Open HDRI, a new online library of free, high-resolution HDRIs.
There are currently 25 available to download, including both interiors and natural and urban environments, provided as 32-bit float EXR files at resolutions up to 29K, under a CC0 license.
Free high-quality, ultra-high-resolution HDRIs for visualization, games and VFX
The HDRIs on Open HDRI cover a range of environments, including both natural landscapes and urban exteriors, shot at different times of day, and under different weather conditions.
There are also a number of interiors, including domestic, historical and industrial spaces, and a couple of real-world photo studios, for use in visualization work.
The files have dynamic ranges of between 12 and 27 EVs – most exterior scenes are 24-27 EVs – and are provided at a choice of resolutions, from 1K to a whopping 29K (29,696 x 14,848px).
The HDRIs are suitable for use in a range of CG tasks, including rendering portfolio material, architectural visualization, game development, motion graphics and visual effects work.
Developed by the creator of HDRMAPS
Regular readers may be familiar with Grzegorz Wronkowski’s work through his previous website, HDRMAPS, which also hosts a range of free HDRIs.
Although HDRMAPS is still being updated, Wronkowski tells us that he feels that the market has shifted, with CC0 content becoming the standard.
Accordingly, all of the files on Open HDRI are free to download, even at the highest resolutions.
Wronkowski says that he aims to publish 10 to 25 new HDRIs each month, and hopes to raise €500/month in donations on Ko-Fi to keep the project going.
Licensing and system requirements
The HDRIs on Open HDRI are provided in EXR format, so they should be compatible with most modern CG applications, including 3ds Max, Blender, Cinema 4D, Houdini, Maya and UE5.
They are available under a CC0 license, which permits use in commercial projects.
All of the files are free, but if you like them and want to support future development, you can make a voluntary donation through Ko-Fi.
