BiteTheBytes releases World Creator 2025.3

BiteTheBytes has released World Creator 2025.3, the latest version of its GPU-based terrain-generation software for game development, motion graphics and VFX work.
The update makes it possible to export terrain in ORBX format for rendering in OctaneRender, to paint holes into terrain to create caves and dungeons, and adds a new Godot integration plugin.
A procedural GPU-based terrain generator used by leading games and VFX studios
World Creator enables artists to create terrain through a combination of procedural and manual workflows.
Artists can create terrain using a layer-based workflow, sculpting the basic 3D forms, and generating linear land forms like mountain ranges, rivers and roads along vector paths.
The terrain can be modified using filters, including those mimicking the effects of erosion and sediment deposition, previewing the results using World Creator’s built-in ray tracing renderer.
Users can export terrain to DCC applications and game engines in 3D formats like OBJ, FBX and glTF, or as 2D texture maps, including height maps and flow maps, with support for 32-bit EXRs.
The software has been used by artists at games and VFX studios including Blizzard Entertainment, Crytek, Blur Studio and Cinesite.
World Creator 2025.3: export ORBX files for rendering in OctaneRender
New features in World Creator 2025.3 include the option to export terrain in ORBX file format for rendering in OctaneRender.
The workflow supports any DCC application with an OctaneRender integration plugin, including Blender, 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, Maya and Nuke.
New Godot bridge plugin
There is also a new bridge plugin for exporting terrain to Godot.
The open-source game engine becomes the latest third-party app to get an integration plugin, joining Blender, Cinema 4D, Houdini, Unity and Unreal Engine.
Other new features in World Creator 2025.3
Other changes include the option to paint holes into terrain to create cave or tunnel entrances, then export the position of the entrance to DCC apps or game engines as a mask.
It is also now possible to export relief maps of terrain for “visualizing height variations or creating stylized topographic designs”.
World Creator 2025.2: HDRI rendering and XYZ export
Since we last wrote about World Creator, BiteTheBytes has also added support for generating HDRI renders of terrain for use as environments or sky lights in other DCC applications.
The previous release, World Creator 2025.2, also made it possible to export terrain in XYZ and ACS format, for creating custom maps for games like Arma and DayZ.
Availability and system requirements
World Creator 2025.3 is available for Windows 10+. Integration plugins are available for Blender, Cinema 4D, Godot, Houdini, Unity and Unreal Engine.
