Peregrine Labs releases Yeti 2.0
Peregrine Labs has released Yeti 2.0, the first major update to its popular fur, feathers and instancing system for Maya in three years.
According to Peregrine Labs, performance was a key focus of the new release, with “more aggressive use of multi-core processors” and full support for Viewport 2.0 to improve interactivity on larger grooms.
New features include a Yeti Graph Panel for “tighter integration with Maya’s UI”, a refactored dynamics solver, updated brush dynamics and new sculpting tools.
Pricing and availability
Yeti 2.0 is available for Maya 2015 and above, running on 64-bit Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. The price has been cut by over 40%, to CAD $699 (around USD $530), which gets you one interactive and five render licences.
