DGDM ships SLiB | Browser and SLiB | Browser Pro 1.0

Shader vendor DGDM has released new versions of SLiB | Browser and SLiB Browser | Pro, its Maya plugins for browsing and previewing shaders – and in the case of the Pro edition, exporting them as well.

The software supports all native Maya shading nodes and the “most used” V-Ray, Redshift, mental ray and Arnold nodes. RenderMan support is in development.

New search and favourites options in the free edition
Although somewhat confusingly, both current releases are officially version 1.0, those are the updated versions, and each adds a fair range of functionality.

New features in the free edition include a new search function, and support for favourites.

Library files are now separated by type (shaders, objects, lights, textures) or subcategories; layout settings can now be saved; and the GUI and workflow have been streamlined.

New export options and copy and paste functions in the Pro edition
As well as the features added to the free edition, SLiB | Browser Pro gets the option to export files in MB and OBJ format, and a new mass export option that automates the process of populating an asset library.

There is also a new copy and paste function, with the software automatically fixing texture paths when duplicating or renaming a shader or asset.

Pricing and availability
Both plugins are available for Maya 2013 and above, running on Windows, Linux or Mac OS X. SLiB | Browser is a free download; SLiB | Browser Pro costs $45.
