Maxon releases Cinema 4D 2026.0
Maxon’s launch video for its Fall 2025 product updates. The section on Cinema 4D starts at 2:15, although most of the features shown are from Cinema 4D 2025.3 and Redshift 2026.0
Maxon has released Cinema 4D 2026.0, the latest version of its 3D software for motion graphics, VFX and visualization work.
It’s a small update, with the release notes listing only two ‘general enhancements’ – to liquid simulations and object duplication – alongside a list of bugfixes.
The software also gets a new logo – essentially the old one, but flatter and inset into a hexagon – as part of a unified product logo system rolled out with Maxon’s Fall 2025 product releases.
Cinema 4D 2026.0: two ‘general enhancements’, but no major new features
Cinema 4D 2026.0 doesn’t add any major new features to the software, with the release notes only listing two “general enhancements”, plus bugfixes.
The liquid simulation toolset introduced in the previous release gets improved collisions with rigid body objects.
There are also new options for interactive duplication of objects in the viewport.
Redshift, Maxon’s production renderer – now included with all Cinema 4D subscriptions – gets a pretty substantial update: you can see the new features in Redshift 2026.0 in this story.
However, if you use a third-party renderer like OctaneRender, Cinema 4D 2026.0 is the smallest annual update to the software that we can recall.
Launch video showcases features from the more substantial previous release
Since taking Cinema 4D subscription-only in 2022, Maxon has typically put out three to five non-bugfix updates to the software per year, the most significant of which don’t necessarily coincide with the major changes in version number.
In terms of new features, Cinema 4D 2025.3, released in July, was a much more major release, introducing a new GPU-accelerated liquid simulation toolset and support for UDIM workflows.
Both are actually shown in the launch video for Cinema 4D 2026.0 and Maxon’s other Fall 2025 product releases, along with the new features in Redshift.
If the YouTube comments on the video are representative, users’ responses to the release have been predominantly negative, with several criticizing the “PR fluff” in the launch video, and others describing the release as a “joke”.
Price and system requirements
Cinema 4D 2026.0 is compatible with Windows 10+ and macOS 14.0+. It is available rental-only, with Cinema 4D subscriptions costing $109/month or $839/year.
