See how Folks created the CG crowds for Chad Powers Season 1

Folks has done a lot of good work creating CG crowds and stadiums for sports dramas recently – see, for example, Brazil 70, Heated Rivalry and Marty Supreme.

Its latest VFX breakdown, for college football comedy drama Chad Powers, continues that streak, showing how the studio recreated crowds of over 90,000 fans entirely in CG.

Folks’ team combined CG environments, practical sprites, crowd simulations and compositing to “create the scale and energy of game day”. In total, the studio delivered over 110 VFX shots.
