Maxon releases ZBrush 2026.2 and ZBrush for iPad 2026.2

Maxon has released ZBrush 2026.2, the latest version of its digital sculpting software, widely used for concept art, creature design, game development and visual effects.

The release adds native support for ARM processors on Windows systems, and the option to send files to Substance 3D Painter.

The iPad edition of the software has also been updated, with ZBrush for iPad 2026.2 getting the option to import hotkeys from the desktop edition.

ZBrush 2026.2: native support for ARM processors on Windows
Judging by the release notes, ZBrush 2026.2 isn’t a feature-heavy update.

The main change is one that Maxon announced earlier this year: that the software now natively supports Qualcomm’s ARM-based Snapdragon processors.

That should improve performance and reduce memory usage on the growing range of Copilot+ PCs – primarily laptops and 2-in-1 tablets – that use the Windows on Snapdragon platform.

In addition, the release notes list the option to “Send to Adobe Painter via the Substance Bridge”.

We assume that means the option to send models to Substance 3D Painter via the open-source Substance 3D Connector, but we’ve contacted Maxon to check.

Workflow improvements include a new intensity slider for Polypaint vertex paint data, and the option to exchange custom hotkey setups with the iPad edition of the software.

Price and system requirements
ZBrush 2026.2 is compatible with Windows 10+ and macOS 14.0+. It is rental-only. ZBrush subscriptions cost $49/month or $399/year, and include ZBrush for iPad.

ZBrush for iPad is compatible with iPadOS 17+, and is available on iPad models with A12 Bionic or later processors.

The base app is free; access to the full feature set requires a paid subscription, which costs $9.99/month or $89.99/year.
