Maxon releases Redshift 2025.6
Redshift 2025.6 brings updates to the renderer’s Houdini integration plugin.
Maxon has released Redshift 2025.6, the latest version of the GPU renderer for VFX, motion graphics and visualization work.
It’s primarily a bugfix release, but adds new features to the 3ds Max and Houdini plugins.
New control options in the Houdini plugins and better viewport feedback in 3ds Max
The majority of changes listed in the Redshift 2025.6 release notes are bugfixes, but there are updates to the 3ds Max and Houdini plugins.
3ds Max users get real-time feedback from the dome light in the DirectX 11 viewport in 3ds Max 2023 and above, including support for OCIO.
Houdini users get the option to control Redshift Object Parameters at SOP level via the new redshift_ObjectParamsSOP node. It currently only supports polygons and curves.
Price and system requirements
Redshift 2025.6 is compatible with Windows 10+, glibc 2.28+ Linux and macOS 13.3+. In the release notes, the update is also referred to as ‘Redshift 2025.07’.
The renderer’s integration plugins are compatible with 3ds Max 2018+, Blender 3.1+, Cinema 4D R25+, Houdini 18.5+, Katana 4.5+ and Maya 2018+ (Maya 2022+ on Linux).
The software is rental-only. Subscriptions now cost $49/month or $289/year.
