Download VFX Assets’ free 2D Cloud Textures Pack

VFX Assets has released the 2D Cloud Textures Pack, a set of 125 free cloud textures.

The images are provided in JPEG format on black backgrounds, and are suitable for background compositing work in motion graphics, animation or VFX projects.

2D cloud textures on black backgrounds for background use in compositing projects
The 2D Cloud Textures Pack comprises 125 images of clouds: mainly cumulus clouds, but also including some wispier clouds, and jet trails from aircraft.

They are provided in JPEG format at 1,024px width, so they’re better suited for background use rather than as elements that will be seen in close-up.

While the images don’t have alpha channels, they are supplied on black backgrounds, so they can be used via luminance-based keying in After Effects or other compositing apps, in a similar way to stock FX clips.

VFX Assets also has a number of other free assets available to download from its Gumroad store, including a free 46,080 x 23,040px displacement map of the Moon.

Licence conditions and download requirements
The 2D Cloud Textures Pack is available to download free from VFX Assets’ Gumroad store. It is licensed for use in commercial projects.

The files are provided in JPEG format, and can be used in any compositing application.
