During the workshop, Denton reveals how to take scanned assets and prepare them for use in production, working from a facial scan created NYCAP3D and assets from 3D Scan Store.
He discusses how to use Wrap and ZBrush to transfer textures and displacement information from the 3D Scan Store mesh, highlighting the key tools and export options inside both applications.
Denton also demonstrates how to set up the textures inside Maya, how to bring a 3D character to life using stock animation data from Adobe’s Mixamo library, and how to generate final renders in Arnold.
Along the way, he provides industry tips for organising and naming files, and discusses what look dev artists expect of the assets they receive from 3D modellers.
