RE:Vision Effects ships new versions of RSMB, Twixtor

RE:Vision Effects has released Twixtor 6 and ReelSmart Motion Blur 5, new GPU-acclerated versions of its retiming and motion blur plugins, for HitFilm, Nucoda, Natron and Autodesk’s compositing tools.

Twixtor creates slo-mo shots from standard footage by automatically interpolating frames, while RSMB adds highly customisable motion blur effects, including support for user-supplied motion vectors.

GPU-accelerated versions of both products were already available for a range of other host applications, including After Effects, Premiere Pro, Nuke, Fusion and Scratch.

Works with any modern GPU
As with the earlier releases, the new GPU compute functionality is OpenCL-based. Any GPU with over 1GB of graphics RAM is officially supported, which includes many modern laptop cards.

RE:Vision Effects isn’t putting any figures on the speed boost GPU acceleration will offer, beyond the fact that it should be “substantial”.

Pricing and availability
The new versions of Twixtor 6 and ReelSmart Motion Blur 5 for HitFilm, Nucoda, Natron, Flame, Flare and Smoke are available now. In addition, RSMB 5 is also now supported by DaVinci Resolve.

Pricing for the new versions of Twixtor varies from $329.95 to $795, according to host platform; the new versions of ReelSmart Motion Blur cost between $89.95 and $189.95.
