MARA3D has released David Giraud – Male Anatomy, an art reference app for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.
The app provides a poseable male figure, complete with an écorché view of the underlying muscles. Users may adjust the camera view, lighting and display mode – the latter of which includes a handy-looking silhouette view.
The figure is based on the work of Giraud, a veteran of Ubisoft, Electronic Arts and THQ.
The app also includes a female model as a “free preview” for a forthcoming dedicated female anatomy app.
To judge by the demo video above, the range of poses available is currently fairly limited, but it still looks like a handy reference tool – and, at just $3.99, it’ll hardly break the bank.
According to the developer, an Android version is in the works.
