Reallusion releases free animation tool iClone Personal

Reallusion has released a new free edition of iClone, its real-time 3D animation software.

iClone Personal contains the full toolset of the paid edition, and can be used on commercial projects, but is limited to 30 lifetime exports to other 3D applications.

The new free edition was released yesterday alongside the official launch of AI Studio, Reallusion’s 3D-guided AI rendering toolset, which is integrated into it.

Use iClone for free indefinitely, at least for project development
Unlike the old 30-day iClone trial, which it replaces, iClone Personal does not time out, and can be used indefinitely.

It has the complete toolset of the paid edition of iClone, has the same render resolutions, and can be used on commercial projects.

The limitation is that, while you can export animations to other 3D software or game engines, you can only do so 30 times.

After that, you need to buy a perpetual licence or begin a subscription to continue exporting.

However, all the features remain functional, so it would be possible to work on the early stages projects in free mode, then take out a subscription only when you need final-quality rendering.

Will support RTX Render, but only for non-commercial projects
While you can render animations in iClone, the native real-time renderer is geared towards previews, not production work – and in iClone Personal, its output is limited to personal use.

iClone Personal will be updated to support RTX Render, Reallusion’s upcoming GPU-based photorealistic render engine, which is due in open beta in July 2026.

However, again, renders created using it will only be licensed for personal use: to use them for commercial projects, you will need a paid license.

Comes integrated with 3D-guided AI rendering toolset AI Studio
In related news, Reallusion has officially launched AI Studio, its 3D-guided AI rendering toolset.

It is integrated into both iClone, including iClone Personal, and Character Creator, Reallusion’s 3D character generation software.

3D data from the host software can be used to guide still AI image generation or AI video generation in AI Studio, using third-party AI models like FLUX, Nano Banana, Veo and Seedance.

AI generation is charged on a credit basis, and requires a separate AI Cloud subscription.

Price and system requirements
All editions of iClone are compatible with Windows 10+.

The Personal edition is free. It requires a free account on the Reallusion website to activate.

A perpetual license of the full version of iClone costs $599. iClone 365 subscriptions cost $59/month or $199/year. You can find details of bundle subscriptions in this story.

AI Studio is available in Character Creator 5.11 and iClone 8.73, the latest versions of the applications, including in iClone Personal.
