Adobe releases Photoshop 27.3 and Photoshop 27.4 beta

Adobe has released Photoshop 27.3, the latest version of the image-editing software, widely used in the entertainment industry for concept art, texture editing, and retouching renders.
The update adds two new adjustment layers – Clarity and Dehaze, and Grain – and improves support when using reference images to guide the generative AI-based Generative Fill system.
A separate new beta build of the software, Photoshop 27.4, makes it possible to use the experimental Dynamic Text system to reflow text automatically along semicircular paths.

Two new adjustment layers for non-destructively editing images
Photoshop 26.3 introduces two new adjustment layer types, for editing images non-destructively.
Clarity and Dehaze reduces atmospheric haze and increases midtone contrast in photos.
Grain, not surprisingly, mimics the look of analogue film grain, removing the need to add it via workarounds like noise layers.
It comes with a set of simple controls to adjust the amount, size and roughness of the grain.

Generative Fill now better preserves objects from reference images
The release also updates Photoshop’s generative AI features, particularly Generative Fill.
Introduced in Photoshop 25.0, it replaces a selected region of an image with AI-generated content, with users able to guide the process using text prompts or reference images.
That process now works better when replacing objects, with the AI better matching the scale, perspective and lighting of the original object when generating a replacement based on a reference image, as shown above.
New AI models for Generative Fill, Generative Expand and the Remove tool
In addition, both Generative Fill and Generative Expand now support an extra AI model.
Unlike the third-party models introduced in Photoshop 27.0 last October, Firefly Fill and Expand is developed by Adobe itself, and consumes only one generative credit per use.
The AI-powered Remove tool also gets a new AI model, Remove Tool 3.
According to Adobe’s blog post, both new models generate “higher-quality results with 2K resolution output, sharper detail, and fewer artifacts”.

Photoshop 27.4 beta: Dynamic Text now supports semicircular paths
In addition, Adobe has released a separate new beta build of the software, Photoshop 27.4, updating the Dynamic Text system.
The current version, rolled out last year, automatically resizes and reflows text to fit a bounding box. The update also reflows text along circular and semicircular paths.
Price and system requirements
Photoshop 27.3 is compatible with Windows 11 and macOS 13.0+. In the online documentation, it is also referred to as the January 2026 release.
The software is rental-only, with Photography subscription plans that include access to Photoshop costing $29.99/month or $239.88/year.
Single-app Photoshop subscriptions cost $34.49/month or $263.88/year.
