Download 25 free mocap moves from the Heat online library
Online motion-capture library Heat has made 25 of its mocap moves available to download for free inside Blender, Daz Studio, Unity and Unreal Engine.
The site, billed as a complete “end-to-end character animation platform” also now includes an AI autorigging service and a text-to-3D-character generative AI system.
An online library of stock animations for games, motion graphics and visualization
Launched in beta in March, Heat – strictly, it’s stylized ‘HEAT’ – is an online library of over 1,000 motion-capture motions, for use in games, motion graphics and visualization work.
They include walk and run cycles, idles, emotes and combat moves, which can be previewed on a default character, or on custom characters uploaded in FBX or glTF/GLB format.
Animations can be downloaded in glTF format, for use in DCC applications and game engines.
Blender, Daz Studio, Unity and Unreal Engine users also get integration plugins for importing animations directly into the software – which, in the case of the Blender and Unreal Engine plugins, also provide supporting features like animation retargeting and blending.
New AI-powered auto-rigging and character generation tools
To that, last week’s update adds an AI-powered auto-rigging tool. It automatically rigs characters uploaded in FBX and glTF/GLB format, including generating hand rigs.
The update also adds a text-to-model generative AI tool powered by Luma AI’s Genie AI model, which enables users to generate stylized rigged 3D characters from simple text descriptions.
Heat describes the set of tools as aimed at “everyone from animation noobs to full-fledged game studios and production houses”.

The update also expands Heat’s free subscriptions to provide access to 25 of the mocap moves.
They include walk and run cycles, jumping in place, idles, combat moves – and some stranger motions, including zombie movement cycles and ‘dead fish’ and ‘badger’ dance moves.
Price and system requirements
Heat’s integration plugins are available for Blender, Daz Studio, Unity and Unreal Engine 5.2/5.3 on Windows and macOS. A Maya plugin is coming “soon”.
Blender, Daz Studio and Unity users also need to install a separate standalone tool, Heat Bridge, before installing their integration plugin.
Users with free accounts can download 25 mocap moves and use the auto-rigger and text-to-character tools. Free accounts are licensed for non-commercial use only.
For individual artists and small studios, Mover subscriptions cost $5/month or $50/year, and provide access to the full library of over 1,000 mocap moves, for use on commercial projects.
Enterprise subscriptions, for studios with over 15 staff or revenue of over $1 million/year, are priced on enquiry.
