Get ActionVFX’s free 8 Days of VFX-mas FX asset packs

Stock effects library ActionVFX is running its 8 Days of VFX-mas giveaway again this year, releasing a pack of its stock FX assets free each day until 25 December 2023.

Each of the packs contains five files from ActionVFX’s library of commercial assets.
For example, today’s pack has practical footage of snow falling and ice forming, a still from which is shown at the top of this story, for compositing into motion graphics or VFX projects.
The videos are shot on black backgrounds, and are provided in .mov format at 2K resolution, but last year’s packs also included rendered simulations, complete with depth passes.
Each is available for one day only, with a new pack available each day, and since we’re already on the second day of the promotion, there are seven left to download, including today’s pack.
The free asset packs are part of a wider Christmas promotion, which includes discounts on ActionVFX’s commercial assets.
License and system requirements
The file formats of the free assets will vary from pack to pack, but 2K (2,048 x 1,080px) ProRes videos were typical last year.
There are no license conditions listed for the files on ActionVFX’s website, and no EULA is included in the download, so they should be available for use in commercial projects.
To download the files, you will need to enter your name and email address on ActionVFX’s site.
