Download 20 free ‘spell hit’ effects from ActionVFX
Stock practical effects site ActionVFX has released a set of 20 free ‘spell hit’ FX: a series of smoke bursts that can be hue-shifted to mimic magical effects.
The clips – 10 shot from the front and 10 from the side on a RED Weapon Helium camera – are provided at 2K and 4K resolution in ProRes 422 format at 24fps, and are licensed for commercial use.
ActionVFX has also launched a new art contest to create an original VFX clip using the assets, with the five winners receiving a commercial effects collection of their choice from its online library.
