The Trojan Horse was a Unicorn festival is holding its Los Angeles meetup at the Gnomon School of Visual Effects on Thursday 19 November. The event is free, and features key speakers from this year’s show.

In addition, event founder Andre Luis and event ambassador and Digital Domain co-founder Scott Ross will discuss the future of THU – including the key question of whether there will be another show this year.

See key speakers from one of the industry’s most talked-about festivals
Launched in 2013, THU has quickly become one of the CG industry’s most talked-about festivals – not least because it offers extensive opportunities to network with speakers in a luxury seaside resort in Portugal.

The LA meetup features many of the best-known speakers from this year’s show, including concept artists Alberto Mielgo, Robh Ruppel and Jeremy Mann, and lead character artists Frank Tzeng and Ale Baldasseroni.

As well as the speaker line-up, the event promises news of “new projects in the making” and “a few surprises”.

The biggest of those could be whether there will be another THU in 2016: something that hasn’t yet been confirmed publicly. Gnomon says that it expects that Luis and Ross will reveal their decision at the meetup.

Free to attend, but register in advance
The THU LA meetup takes place at Gnomon’s Hollywood campus from 7-9pm on Thursday 19 November. It’s free to attend, but you’ll need to RSVP in advance, and seating is first come, first served.

Anyone registering via Eventbrite gets two free hotdogs (or vegetarian equivalents), plus chips and soda. If you can’t make it to LA in person, THU will also be livestreaming the event for free.
