Tutorial: Introduction to Maya 2025: UV Toolkit

The Gnomon Workshop has released Introduction to Maya 2025: UV Toolkit, a detailed guide to UV work recorded by veteran Maya instructor Eric Keller.

The workshop provides over four and a half hours of video training in Maya and ZBrush.

A detailed guide to Maya’s production-proven UV toolset
Mastering the creation, editing and layout of UV texture coordinates is fundamental to 3D modeling and texturing work for games, VFX or motion graphics.

Autodesk’s Maya software is widely used in production pipelines for UV work, providing a comprehensive suite of UV tools, refined across successive releases.

In the workshop, Keller provides an in-depth analysis of this toolkit, examining each tool, option and setting available, along with insights into the UV Editor itself.

He then moves to a practical example, laying out UVs for a character model, including both body and clothing, to demonstrate how the tools are used in the real world.

In the final chapter of the workshoop, Keller shares some advanced tips and strategies for managing UV texture coordinates in Maxon’s ZBrush.
