Xencelabs has announced the Pen Display 24, its new 24-inch 4K pen display.
The $1,899 model, which is currently available to pre-order, is Xencelabs’ much-anticipated first foray into the pen display market, previously dominated by Wacom and newer competitors like Huion and XP-Pen.
A new player in the professional pen tablet and pen display market
Founded in 2019 by a team including former Wacom staff, Xencelabs has been making waves in the professional pen tablet market, with a growing range of affordable, well engineered tablets and accessories.
We tested its Pen Tablet Medium bundle with a range of 2D and 3D software last year, with our reviewer concluding that it was “nothing but a pleasure to use”.
The Pen Display 24 is Xencelabs’ first move into the pen display market, pitting the firm against the mid-to-high end of Wacom’s pen display range, and the high end of those of other manufacturers.

Key specifications and price
As a 24-inch 4K pen display, the Xencelabs Pen Display 24 competes directly with Wacom’s established Cintiq Pro 24 and Huion’s newer Kamvas Pro 24. You can see their key specifications in the table above.
(XP-Pen has also begun producing 4K pen displays, but currently only has a 16-inch model.)
Likely selling points for the Xencelabs pen display include the quality of its edge-to-edge display, which is coated to reduce glare and fingerprints; and support for its drivers on Linux as well as Windows and macOS.
With a recommended price of $1,899, the cost is midway between that of the equivalent Huion and Wacom models, and unlike them, the base price includes a tilt stand.
Price, system requirements and release date
Xencelabs’ Pen Display 24 is due to ship in Q2 2023. It costs $1,899. Its drivers are compatible with Windows 7+, Linux (Ubuntu 14.04+, Debian 9.5, CentOS 7.0+ and RHEL 7.0+) and macOS 10.12+
