Download 50 free 3D scanned trees and rocks

Epic Games has made 50 scans of trees and rocks from real-time asset developer Maelstrom Library available for free on the Unreal Engine Marketplace.

The assets are available as part of the MAE Oak Forest asset pack, included in Epic’s free marketplace content for March 2023, along with free arch viz scene and free kitbash assets of an opera house.

Free 3D scans of oak trees, forest plants and rocks, with LODs
The MAE Oak Forest pack comprises 3D models of trees, plants and rocks scanned from a temperate forest.

As well as 11 oak trees of various ages, from seedlings to mature trees, it includes grass, ferns, flowering plants and bushes, plus ground objects like rocks, leaves and twigs, and road meshes.

The assets are provided at LODs including billboard textures and 3D models ranging from 96 to 34,250 triangles, with textures up to 4,096 x 4,096px in resolution.

System requirements and availability
The MAE Oak Forest asset pack is available free via the Unreal Engine Marketplace during March 2023. It is compatible with Unreal Engine 4.26+.

The marketplace usage rights permit assets not created by Epic Games itself to be exported to other game engines and DCC software, although obviously, some features require Unreal Engine to work.
