Download 50 free scanned 3D tree and plant models

Wednesday, April 8th, 2020 | Posted by Jim Thacker

Epic Games has made over 50 scanned trees, bushes and plants created by Tirido – aka environment artist Mert Mimaroğlu – available for free on the Unreal Engine Marketplace.

The plant models in the Scanned Poplar and Aspen Forest with Seasons pack are provided at four LODs with 1,024 x 1,024px textures, and the pack also includes rock assets and ground textures.

The assets have been made available for free as part of Epic’s free marketplace content for April 2020, which also includes a second pack of 78 free tree and rock assets.

Free 3D scans of broadleaved trees, shrubs and plants with LODs and seasonal states
The Scanned Poplar and Aspen Forest with Seasons pack is pretty self-descriptive, comprising models of trees, shrubs and ground cover plants from a temperate aspen forest.

It includes 23 tree models representing European aspen and Lombardy poplars at various ages, five holly bush models, and a set of herbaceous plants, including ferns, grasses and flowers.

All of the plant assets come with four seasonal states, four level of detail variations including billboards, and 1,024 x 1,024px texture maps.

The pack also includes 16 rock models and 17 2,048 x 2,048px terrain textures.

System requirements and availability
The Scanned Poplar and Aspen Forest with Seasons pack is available free via the Unreal Engine Marketplace. It is compatible with Unreal Engine 4.10+.

The marketplace usage rights permit assets not created by Epic Games itself to be exported to other game engines and DCC software, although obviously, some features require UE4 to work.
