Reallusion previews Unreal iClone Live Link
Reallusion has previewed Unreal iClone Live Link, an upcoming plugin that links iClone to Unreal Engine.
The plugin, which was unveiled at GDC 2019, makes it possible to stream data from the 3D animation software to the game engine in real time, rather than having to export it as an FBX file.
Control a ray traced 3D character in real time
The video shows output from iClone being rendered using the new real-time ray tracing functionality in Unreal Engine 4.22, itself currently available in preview.
Other sequences show iClone’s Live Face system being used to retarget facial animation from iPhone footage of an actor to a 3D character inside Unreal Engine.
Availability and system requirements
The Unreal iClone Live Link plugin is due to ship “around June 2019” at Siggraph 2019. Reallusion hasn’t announced any pricing details.
iClone itself is available for 64-bit Windows 7+. The base application costs $199; the Live Face system requires a set of other add-ons, currently available at a bundle price of $799.
