Act-3D has posted a nice new teaser video showing off the new volumetric cloud system in Lumion 3.0, the forthcoming update to its real-time visualisation software.
The system enables clouds to wrap around geometry or cast shadows on the landscape below, and for users to create camera paths through cloud layers.
To judge from the video, the results aren’t quite as detailed as you might get in an offline render, but for a product intended to run in real-time or near-real-time, they’re really pretty cool.
Lumion 3.0 is due to ship in November. Act-3D will be posting more information on the new features in the run up to the release, accessible via the link below.
