Maxon releases Cinema 4D 2024.3
Maxon has released Cinema 4D 2024.3, the new version of its 3D design and animation software.
The update focuses on workflow and pipeline integration, with animated previews in the Asset Browser, better support for ZBrush’s GoZ system, and improvements to glTF and USD export.
Pipeline integration: improvements to GoZ, glTF and USD export
Cinema 4D 2024.3 features a number of improvements to file export and import
GoZ, the bridge technology for exchanging data between Cinema 4D and ZBrush, Maxon’s digital sculpting software, now supports dynamic subdivisions and MatCap materials.
It is now possible to export character animations to other DCC applications or game engines in glTF format, with exported glTF files now supporting skin deformations.
And it is also possible to export animations from Cinema 4D in USD format, although currently only PSR (position, scale and rotation) data: you can’t export character animations to UsdSkel.
Workflow improvements: updates to the Asset Browser and Substance 3D materials
Cinema 4D’s Asset Browser has been updated, and now displays animated previews of assets when mousing over them.
In addition, the Asset Browser now has full support for Substance 3D materials, which were previously handled by the Substance Asset Manager as an extension in Cinema 4D.
The change continues the improvements to Substance workflow in Cinema 4D 2024.2.
Substance 3D assets can also now be imported as legacy as well as Redshift materials, and normal direction is recognized automatically when importing as a Redshift material.

Price and system requirements
Cinema 4D 2024.3 is available for Windows 10+ and macOS 11.7.7+. The update is available rental-only, with single-product subscriptions costing $94/month or $719/year.
To subscribe to Cinema 4D alone, you now have to click the Buy Now button for the ‘C4D + Redshift’ subscription in Maxon’s online store, then select Cinema 4D as an alternate option.
