Epic Games releases free Shotgun integration for UE4

Epic Games and Shotgun Software have released a new integration plugin linking the Shotgun production tracking system to UE4. The plugin is available free as part of the latest build of Unreal Engine 4.20.

View Shotgun project data inside UE4, or share UE4 assets with other Shotgun users
Intended primarily for VFX studios that have added Unreal Engine to their pipeline as a rendering tool, the integration makes it possible to view Shotgun project information directly with the UE4 user interface.

It is also possible to import assets from Shotgun to Unreal Engine, export Unreal Engine scenes back to Shotgun, or to publish renders generated in UE4 to Shotgun for review.

The integration also includes a separate Maya FBX publisher for look development. It exports an asset from Maya in FBX format, automatically renders a turntable of it in UE4, and publishes the render for review.

Pricing and availability
The Shotgun integration plugin for UE4 is available free as part of Unreal Engine 4.20.

Shotgun Software has also just released Shotgun 7.11. Pricing varies with the level of customer support: ‘Awesome’ support costs $30/account/month; ‘Super Awesome’ support costs $50/account/month.
