Check out Digital Domain’s VFX breakdown for Disclosure Day

Digital Domain has posted its VFX breakdown for Disclosure Day, Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi thriller, for which it was lead effects vendor, delivering 418 shots.

It’s a long reel – over four minutes in length – showcasing a range of effects, including a 40-shot train chase sequence and an iconic shot of a crop circle mysteriously forming in a field.

There’s also a lot of creature work, both for the CG aliens and the animal forms that they take on as disguises, including a deer and a red cardinal.

For the work, Digital Domain developed a new three-tier Creature Muscle system, with a high-detail tier for hero assets, a mid-detail tier, and an automated low-detail tier for faster work.
