See DNEG’s breakdown of its period-accurate VFX for Star City

DNEG is on a roll with alternate-history sci-fi series recently.

Just days after the studio released its VFX breakdown for Season 5 of For All Mankind comes a making-of for For All Mankind’s spin-off series, Star City.

Compared to the Martian environments of For All Mankind, the visual effects for Star City – set in a universe where the Soviet Union reaches the Moon first – are grounded in period realism.

DNEG created a range of key assets, including a detailed lunar south pole landscape, historically accurate Soviet spacecraft and fighter jets, and digi-doubles for multiple cosmonauts to support a range of spaceflight and action sequences.
