Ornatrix is now free to schools and students worldwide
Ephere has made Ornatrix, its hair, fur and feather plugin for CG software, free to educational institutions and students worldwide.
A versatile hair plugin for game development and VFX work
Ornatrix is a well-established plugin for creating and grooming hair, fur and feathers on CG characters: originally for 3ds Max, but also now for Cinema 4D, Maya and Unreal Engine.
The software has been used at a number of leading VFX and games studios including Blur Studio, Pixomondo, Scanline VFX, Blizzard Entertainment and Capcom.
Free non-commercial one-year license for educational institutions
Ephere used to offer schools and colleges a 50% educational discount, but has now made the software available to “all qualified educational institutions” worldwide.
Students have to request access through their school or college, but then get a license issued directly to their individual account.
The free licences are valid for one year, after which they must be renewed, and unlike the old educational discount, are for non-commercial work only.
