Gnomon ships Figure Fundamentals Volume 3

The Gnomon Workshop has released Figure Fundamentals Volume 3: Drawing the Female Head, the latest in its series of tutorials on traditional figure drawing recorded by LA-based painter Van Arno.

Volume 1 in the series covered basic concepts, focusing on how to capture the essentials of a pose quickly, while volume 2 explored the process of capturing the male figure, focusing on full-body drawings.

Accurately capture the proportions of the female face from any angle
In the new video, which lasts over three hours, Van Arno covers the female face, focusing on the proportions of the head and correct perspective for the cranium and jaw.

The video covers both short poses of facial expressions and longer studies of tone and likeness, and aims to undermine preconceptions about how facial features should look, rather than how they appear in reality.
