The Project Dogwaffle team has released Particle 9, an ‘app-priced’ digital painting tool in the same product family as Howler, its VFX-friendly paint package.

Developer Dan Ritchie describes Particle as providing a “heavy dose of particle painting”, courtesy of Howler’s ‘orbicle’ 3D brushes, but notes that it’s also a “well-rounded ‘regular’ paint program”
We can’t find a complete feature list online, but the summary table indicates that it’s the same toolset as the existing $27 PD Artist edition, minus some of the FX features.
The brush visualisation system and media browsing options have also been updated from the existing editions, and the GUI optimised for pen and tablet users.

Particle 9 is available for Windows only. It costs $7.99
