Get 120 free modular 3D assets for building a desert city

Epic Games has made a set of 120 modular assets for creating a Star Wars-esque desert city environment in Unreal Engine available for free from Fab, its online marketplace.

Stock asset provider Laya Design‘s Science Fiction Desert City Kit is part of the latest set of time-limited free content released on Fab, and will be free until the end of the year.

Over 100 modular 3D assets for creating a desert village environment
The Science Fiction Desert City Kit consists of 120 individual meshes for creating a stylized environment for use in games or animation projects.

They’re mainly entire buildings, like houses and towers, rather than building parts, although there is also a set of archways and fabric canopies to shade exterior areas.

The asset pack also includes a set of rocks and cliffs, for the surrounding environment.

The assets come with LODs, collisions, plus a set of material instances, making it possible to adjust colors, textures and details on the materials parametrically.

System requirements and availability
The Science Fiction Desert Kit is available as an asset package for Unreal Engine 5.1+ under a Fab Standard license.

The terms of the Fab Standard license permit content to be used in “any engine or tool”, including for commercial projects, subject to the restrictions set out in the Fab EULA.
