Reallusion switches up iClone and Character Creator licensing
Reallusion has changed the licensing models for several of its products, including iClone, Character Creator and AccuPose Infinity.
Real-time animation software iClone and character-generation tool Character Creator get new subscription plans alongside the existing perpetual licenses.
iClone pose library AccuPose Infinity, which was previously subscription-only, switches to a perpetual license.
iClone and Character Creator: now available as subscriptions and perpetual licenses
Both iClone and Character Creator get new subscription plans, with an annual subscription costing roughly a third of the price of a perpetual license.
For iClone alone, an iClone 365 subscription costs $59/month or $199/year, compared to $599 for a perpetual license.
For Character Creator alone, a Character Creator 365 subscription costs $29/month or $99/year, compared to $299 for a perpetual license.
Both applications also come as Pro subscriptions, which include a range of add-ons for the base software.
A further bundle subscription, Reallusion 3D Suite 365, which includes Character Creator, iClone and a range of add-ons, costs $129/month or $599/year.
Perpetual licenses and subscriptions share the same EULA, and Reallusion says that it “continues to support perpetual licensing for creators and studios that value the reliability and long-term stability of permanent software ownership”.
AccuPose Infinity: now available as a perpetual license
AccuPose Infinity goes the other way, switching from a subscription to a perpetual license.
Introduced alongside iClone 8.52 a year ago, it comprises over 1,000 AI-trained poses, supplementing the 41 available free with the core software.
On release, an individual subscription cost $99/year, compared to the new $149 license.
All former subscribers – including those whose subs have lapsed – automatically get a perpetual license.
The latest update, Expansion 6, introduces a new set of Cartoon poses for stylized animation, bringing the total number of poses to over 1,400.
Reallusion says that “all content planned for this year has been released” and that while the library will continue to receive updates, these “will not follow a fixed schedule”.
Price and system requirements
iClone is compatible with Windows 7+. Character Creator is compatible with Windows 10+. AccuPose Infinity requires iClone 8.52 or above. You can find price details in the story above.
