Adobe releases After Effects 25.4
Adobe has released After Effects 25.4, the latest version of the compositing software for motion graphics, post-production and VFX work.
The update extends support for HDR metadata, and adds a new Quick Offset option for staggering layers in the timeline, and a Paste Text Formatting Only option for styling text.
Better support for HDR metadata
As with other recent updates, After Effects 25.4 extends support for HDR workflows.
The software now supports CICP color management metadata when importing or exporting High Dynamic Range content in PNG or MOV format.
When working in a HDR-compatible color space, it is also now possible to export a composition as a PNG image sequence with embedded HDR10 metadata.
Workflow improvements when working with layers and text
Workflow improvements include a new Quick Offset option for evenly staggering a set of layers in the timeline, as shown above.
When working with Text layers, a new Paste Text Formatting Only option pastes only formatting like font, size, color and style, without changing the actual text.
In addition, new Info buttons in the Effects & Presets panel link to more detailed information about what each effect does.
Price and system requirements
After Effects 25.4 is available for Windows 10+ and macOS 12.0+ on a rental-only basis. Single-app After Effects subscriptions cost $34.49/month or $263.88/year.
In the online documentation, the update is also referred to as the August 2025 release or After Effects 2025.4.
