Download the free Cascadeur Bridge for Blender

Artist Áron Németh has released Cascadeur Bridge for Blender,

The handy free add-on streamlines the process of moving data between Blender and Cascadeur, Nekki’s AI-assisted character animation software.

The current version, 1.02, was actually released in November, but Cascadeur developer Nekki has just featured it in its email newsletter, so this seems like a good time to cover it.

Streamline transfer of data between Blender and Cascadeur, including batch import
The Cascadeur Bridge for Blender streamlines the process of using Cascadeur to generate character animation for use in the open-source 3D software.

The add-on makes it possible to launch Cascadeur from inside Blender, and speeds up the process of exporting a 3D scene from Blender, and importing animation from Cascadeur.

Since the 1.0 release, it has also been possible to batch-import animations generated in Cascadeur to the original 3D character in Blender, as shown in the video above.

Németh also develops a second free Cascadeur plugin, Simple Keyframe Reduction.

As the name suggests, it’s a keyframe reduction tool, intended to make raw mocap data easier to work with, removing either every nth frame, or every frame not selected manually by an artist.

System requirements
Cascadeur Bridge for Blender 1.02 is compatible with Blender 3.5+ and Cascadeur 2023.2, running on Windows and Linux only. Older versions support previous versions of Cascadeur.

The plugin is a free download, with source code available under a GNU General Public License.
