Gnomon releases Vehicle Modeling for Production

The Gnomon Workshop has released Vehicle Modeling for Production: a detailed guide to vehicle design and look development, recorded by Disney and Psyop veteran James Schauf.

Over the course of eight hours of training, Schauf shares his workflow for creating a Mad Max-inspired hotrod, designing and modelling the vehicle in Maya.

Discover proven production techniques for creating hard-surface models with clean topology
In the video, Schauf reveals his entire design process, beginning by collecting reference images before blocking out and refining the 3D model.

The walkthrough focuses on techniques actually used in production, and the resulting tips and tricks can be applied to any hard-surface modelling project.

According to Gnomon: “Whether you are already working at a studio, or a student developing a portfolio, this title will help demystify a key technical challenge … detailed hard surfaces with clean topology.”
