Basefount has posted its 2017 Miarmy reel, a three-minute rollercoaster ride through some of the huge crowd shots now being created with the Maya crowd simulation software.
The reel includes some of the most spectacular movie effects of the two years, both Eastern and Western, including Scanline’s amazing destruction shots from Independence Day: Resurgence and San Andreas.
Other highlights include Luma Pictures’ flocking and rafting shots from Ant-Man, Dexter Studios’ work on Chinese fantasy movie League of Gods and Indian historical epic Baahubali: The Beginning.
Short-form and games work also gets a look-in, notably MPC’s brilliant ‘Yes I Can’ trailer for the 2016 Paralympics and Time Based Arts’ World War Z-esque ‘Mechanics‘ spot for Audi.
