Golaem announces Golaem Crowd 2.5

Golaem has announced Golaem Crowd 2.5, the next update to its Maya crowd-simulation system. The software will be on show this week at Siggraph 2013.

Now creates environments, not just crowds
The main addition this time round is support for instantiating environment models, not just skinned characters.

According to Golaem: “Golaem Crowd can now instantiate any rigid object (trees, cars, ships) with an interactive viewport preview and customizable visual and animation diversity.”

You can see the process in action from around 02:00 in the video above.

In addition, the software now supports Maya 2014. The rendering plugins, which link Golaem Crowd to mental ray, V-Ray, Arnold, RenderMan and 3Delight have also been updated to support the latest versions of the software.
