See how Rebel Unit flooded London for The End We Start From
Norway’s Rebel Unit has posted its VFX breakdown for survival movie The End We Start From.
The film depicts a near-future Britain in which incessant rain has caused widespread floods, triggering a country-wide crisis for food supplies and accommodation for displaced people.
For sequences set in central London, Rebel Unit created a full 3D reconstruction of the Fleet Street area, submerging it beneath simulated water.
The studio’s quietly elegiac reel also shows a range of rural environments, including shots of flood water breaking through the window of an isolated house.
Rebel Unit was nominated for a British Independent Film Award for the work.
