Luxion buys Digizuite

Luxion has completed its acquisition of digital asset management provider Digizuite. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Luxion will now “[integrate] cutting-edge DAM capabilities into its portfolio”, which includes the KeyShot renderer, widely used for product design and visualization.

A provider of digital asset management solutions to large global companies
Although it may not be a familiar name to to CG Channel readers, Digisuite provides tools for managing digital content – including images, video, documents, audio and VR – and sharing it on multiple channels.

Its customers include large international businesses and Fortune 500 companies like Volvo, with its DAM solutions priced on demand.

Luxion CEO Claus Thorsgaard commented that the acquisition of Digizuite reflected the growing importance of 3D visualisation within large firms for marketing and e-commerce.

“The benefits of 3D visualization are no longer limited to art and product design. By adding Digizuite to Luxion’s [portfolio], we are empowering our customers with another essential tool: digital asset management.”

Luxion’s own customers include “over 60 percent” of Fortune 500 companies, including Google, Chrysler and Coca-Cola.

Providing product designers with ‘full-service’ solutions
Luxion and Digizuite will now integrate operations to bring users “enhanced products and services … to solve our customers’ biggest content management challenges”.

The announcement doesn’t go into detail on how, or whether, Digizuite’s technology will be integrated with KeyShot, but in July, when the buyout was first announced, Thorsgaard said that the firm aimed to provide “a full-service design solution, from ideation to asset management”.

He commented that designers are “juggling dozens of tools” and facing “increasing production demands”, and that Luxion aimed to enable them to “focus more of their energy into their creative work”.

At the time of the original announcement, Digizuite said that the acquisition would not result in any changes to customers’ existing “relationships or agreements”.

Price and system requirements
KeyShot is available for Windows 10+ and macOS 11.7+. Integration plugins are available for a range of DCC and CAD tools, including 3ds Max, Blender, Cinema 4D and Maya.

The software is available rental-only. KeyShot Pro subscriptions cost $1,188/year. You can read more about the current release, KeyShot 2023.2, in this story.

Digizuite offers subscription plans for teams of 55 users and above, priced on demand.
