Discover how to create stone walls in Substance Designer

The Gnomon Workshop has released Creating Stone Wall Materials in Substance Designer, a practical guide to the procedural material-authoring software recorded by Santa Monica Studio’s Josh Lynch.

Master industry-standard workflows for authoring materials in Substance Designer
Over the course of almost three hours of video training, Lunch discusses the industry-standard workflows he uses to create believable stone wall materials in Substance Designer.

He begins by discussing his methods for selecting reference photos and establishing a plan of attack, before creating a Substance Designer node graph that generates a realistic-looking result.

Lynch also provides tips for taking advantage of subgraphs and exposed parameters to create effective, highly organised graphs.

The workflows set out in the training can also be used to create a wide variety of other materials.
