Red Giant releases Trapcode Suite 14.1 for After Effects
Red Giant has released Trapcode Suite 14.1, a free update to its suite of motion graphics and VFX plugins for After Effects.
In particular, particle tools Trapcode Form and Trapcode Particular get quite extensive updates, including GPU acceleration in Form 3.1 and an overhaul of the shared Designer interface, aimed at improving usability.
Trapcode Form 3.1 and Trapcode Particular 3.1: usability improvements to Designer
Trapcode Form 3.1, designed for creating particle grids, adds support for GPU acceleration – Red Giant claims a speed boost of “up to 2x” – and support for multiple particle grids in the same 3D space.
Particle effects tool Trapcode Particular 3.1 gets new options to set the emission rate of particles based on the speed of the emitter, or relative to a master emitter.
Both also benefit from usability improvements to their respective Designer windows, used for building effects, including new playback controls, better handling of presets, and improved navigation for folders.
Smaller updates to Trapcode Mir and Trapcode 3D Stroke
In addition, Trapcode Mir, intended for generating 3D surfaces, gets an update, with version 2.2 adding support for image-based lighting and depth of field.
Trapcode 3D Stroke 2.7, used for creating animated strokes and paths, adds new options for varying the colour or thickness of a stroke along its length.
Pricing and availability
Trapcode Suite 14.1 is available for After Effects on Windows and Mac OS X. You can find the versions of After Effects supported by each individual plugin on this page on Red Giant’s website.
