Check out newly updated Maya productivity add-on Renamer 2.1
Rocket Square – aka VFX artist Erik Lehmann – has released Renamer 2.1, a new version of the Maya productivity tool.
New features in the add-on, which streamlines the process of bulk renaming objects in Maya scenes, include the option to automatically add suffixes to names by object type, and to insert text at any point in an object name.
A workflow-boosting tool for bulk-renaming objects in Maya
Renamer is designed to speed up renaming multiple objects or groups within a Maya scene, including numeration, prefix, suffix and search-and-replace functions.
Key changes in the latest update include the option to automatically add suffixes to object names according to object type: Groups, Geometry and Curves.
It is also now possible to insert text at any point in an object name.
The Remove feature can now remove more than one character, and remove blank spaces automatically; and Format now support formatting characters by case.
A new Transfer Names feature transfers names from source to target objects.
Workflow improvements include the option to scale the UI between 100% and 200%.
Pricing and system requirements
Renamer 2.1 is compatible with Maya 2022+. It costs $15. Bulk licences start at $105.
The original, less feature-rich version of the tool, RS Compact Renamer, is available free as part of the RS Free Tool Pack of Maya workflow utilities.
