Master professional V-Ray product rendering workflows

The Gnomon Workshop has released Product Rendering with V-Ray, a complete guide to rendering product images, recorded by Industrial Light & Magic veteran turned marketing artist Jesse Flores.

Create compelling product marketing images in V-Ray, Maya and Nuke
Over the course of more than four hours of video training, Flores explores how to create product renders for use in print, packaging and digital marketing materials.

Flores begins by breaking down real-world examples to analyse how products are presented in marketing imagery, before revealing how to recreate similar effects in Maya and V-Ray.

In particular, Flores discusses how to set up 3D cameras in Maya, and the importance of camera angles in creating compelling promotional imagery.

He also explores lighting techniques in V-Ray, including use of HDR images, light textures and mesh lights.

The training concludes by discussing how to composite render layers exported from V-Ray in Nuke, making use of its Cryptomatte toolset to achieve more control over the look of the finished images.
