3DtoAll ships MaxToModo

Tools developer 3DToAll has released MaxToModo, a new export plugin that can transfer scene data from 3ds Max to Modo for rendering “in two clicks”.

The process doesn’t require the scene to have been saved previously, so you can keep updating the export on the fly, as you would with a live-linking plugin.

The plugin can also convert V-Ray lights and materials to their nearest Modo equivalents – assuming you don’t use V-Ray for Modo – although you will need V-Ray for 3ds Max installed to perform the export.

Pricing and availability
MaxToModo is available for 3ds Max 2015 and above and Modo 8 and above. The MSRP is $49, although the software is currently available at a launch discount.

3DToAll also produces similar plugins for exporting scenes from 3ds Max to Maya and Cinema 4D.
