Get 20 free smoke plume and 10 dust wave FX clips

New stock effects site ActionVFX is offering 20 free 2K clips of practical smoke plumes and 10 free 2K clips of dust waves, for use in visual effects projects.

The practical FX are shot against neutral backgrounds using high-resolution digital movie cameras: a Sony PXW-FS7 in the case of the smoke plumes, and an Epic Red Dragon in the case of the dust waves.

The clips are licensed for use in commercial projects.

High-quality commercial fire and explosion effects
Launched earlier this year after a successful Kickstarter funding campaign, ActionVFX is intended to provide unique, high-quality stock effects footage tailored to the needs of VFX artists.

Their 250-plus commercial clips, which include explosions, fireballs, ground fires, and fires on burning structures, are all shot in Log colour space at 60 or 120fps, and are available at 2K or 4K resolution.

The 4K versions also come with the original unkeyed footage as raw .R3D or .MFX files. The effects stay in frame throughout the shots, and the clips are available to purchase individually as well as in collections.
