Gnomon releases Introduction to ZBrush 4R7
The Gnomon Workshop has released Introduction to ZBrush 4R7: a definitive new guide to Pixologic’s digital sculpting sofware, recorded by Weta artist and ZBrush expert Madeleine Scott-Spencer.
The course, which comprises over 12 hours of training, is described as “the most comprehensive set of instructional videos ever created for ZBrush users … from absolute basics to advanced sculpting”.

Scott-Spencer begins with a brief overview of ZBrush’s UI, adn a few ‘quickstart’ lessons in sculpting.
She then moves on to a detailed explanation of each of the tools in the latest release of the software, adopting a practical approach with an emphasis on technique and discussing how features work together.
The training also covers the use of the Keyshot renderer, which now comes in an edition tailored for ZBrush.
About the artist
Madeleine Scott-Spencer is a texture artist at Weta Digital, having previously worked as a designer at Weta Workshop and digital art director at Gentle Giant Studios. Other clients include Activision and Hasbro.
She is author of the books ZBrush Creature Design, ZBrush Character Creation: Advanced Digital Sculpting and ZBrush Digital Sculpting: Human Anatomy, released under her old byline, Scott Spencer.
The new training is the first that Maddie, a transgender woman, has released under her legal name.
