Eye candy: the GDC 2015 Unreal Engine sizzle reel

Epic Games has posted its GDC 2015 sizzle reel for Unreal Engine, a two-minute run-down of the best games – and even a few non-game projects – created using the engine.

From triple A to tiny team, by way of Oculus Rift and arch viz
If you needed reminding just how many people have started using UE4 since Epic changed its licensing policy to make it available to indie developers, the reel is that reminder.

As well as AAA projects like Batman: Arkham Knight, Fable Legends and Epic’s own Unreal Tournament, the video showcases a colourful array of independent titles.

Pretty much every genre and style of gameplay is represented, as is the full breadth of platforms: from PC and consoles to mobile and VR devices. There’s even a bit of arch viz, courtesy of xoio.

Try the tools yourself for free

And if that doesn’t make you want to try Unreal for yourself, Epic’s other announcement of the day might: UE4 is now completely free to use – at least during dev work. We can’t wait to see the results in next year’s reel.
