Chaos Group ships V-Ray 1.7 for Softimage
Chaos Group has released V-Ray 1.7 for Softimage, a free update that adds support for scene time image sequences and additional ICE functionality – including user normals, animated vertex colours and weight maps.
The update also makes the renderer officially compatible with Softimage 2015.
Pricing and availability
With Softimage itself due to be discontinued, anyone who bought a copy of V-Ray for Softimage before 6 March is eligible for a free crossgrade to V-Ray 3.0 for 3ds Max or V-Ray 3.0 for Maya, once the latter ships.
New licences of V-Ray for Softimage cost $1,230.
