Marvel has released the first proper trailer for Thor: The Dark World – and it’s looking suitably epic.
Chris Hemsworth returns as the hammer-wielding Norse superhero, this time doing battle with Christopher Eccleston’s dark elf king (looking oddly like the Green Goblin in his very brief cameo in the trailer).
There is also a brief glimpse of Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and quite a lot of Natalie Portman as astrophysicist-turned-love-interest Jane Foster.
Other than that, you get a fair smattering of VFX, which are being produced Double Negative and Method Studios – mostly bangs and flashes, but also a nice couple of shots of Thor throwing his hammer.
And UK viewers get the rare thrill of seeing London being destroyed, rather than New York. Huzzah.
Thor: The Dark World goes on worldwide release from 30 October.
